THE COLLECTION AND WORK OF PIERRE-ADOLPHE LESSON

Pierre Adolphe Lesson, born in Rochefort on 24 May 1805, was a French marine surgeon and botanist who took part in several scientific exploration voyages in the Pacific.

The desire to The Pierre-Adolphe Lesson fund online is the result of close collaboration between the Rochefort Municipal Library, which holds the fund, and the CREDO (Oceania Research and Documentation Center) the city of Marseille, which coordinates the archiving platform ODSAS, for non-commercial use.

The Lesson collection has been digitised thanks to the support of the consortium of ethnologists (HumaNum) and a BSN5 grant (2013) from the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
